Find Me

André Aciman

Exclusive Perfume

Farrar, Straus and Giroux partnered with the boutique perfumery Folie à Plusieurs to create an exclusive, one-of-a-kind custom perfume to enhance the reading experience of André Aciman’s Call Me by Your Name sequel Find Me. The sequel brings us back inside the magic circle of one of our greatest contemporary romances to ask if, in fact, true love ever dies.

From Folie à Plusieurs: “From pen to scent, the author André Aciman collaborated with the perfumers Mark Buxton and David Chieze to transcribe the emotional landscape into a fragrance.” Buxton described the scent as a contrast of young love with old spirit; the freshness of Italian citrus; ancient gardens in Rome filled with pine trees; linen bedsheets. The perfume engages an unexpected sense that encapsulates the mood, tone, and style of the book. Aciman said the process “was harder than it sounds!”

The packaging was created by FSG’s Art Director Na Kim, who said: “Scent is a device for deepening the emotional and kinesthetic engagement with art across a range of creative practices, and we’re so excited to bring it into the realm of literature and use it as a way to broaden its relationship to the reader.”
