MCDxFSG would like to thank everyone who participated in the Borne Fan Art Contest. The works we received ranged from precocious and comical to stunning and skillful, with the occasional oddment in between. As a group, they captured nearly every iteration of Borne as described in the novel (and there were plenty of departures from the descriptions, too!). We were so impressed—not only by the sheer talent on display but also by the deep connections to Borne that moved so many readers to make art.
Congratulations to Pat Hughes, the grand prize winner, whose colorful, delightfully cartoonish illustration made us grin and grin some more. Runners-up Pamela Riddle and Ninni Aalto submitted alluring interpretations of Borne that were beautifully and deftly rendered.
